Oh, honey, let me tell you about this here watch I saw, this Jaeger-LeCoultre thingamajig. It’s called a Reverso Tribute Chronograph, fancy name for a fancy watch, I reckon. They say it’s new for 2023. Some folks are callin’ it a “specialty store” piece.
Now, this ain’t your everyday watch, no sir. This one, it’s got two faces! It’s like that two-faced Sally down the street, always got somethin’ different to say dependin’ on who’s around. This here watch, though, it’s got a good reason. They say it’s got two different look. It’s a Chronograph which my grandson told me it can do some extra thing like a timer. I don’t know why people need that.
This new Reverso, it’s kinda like one they made a long time ago, back in the 90s, I think they said. Back when my old man was still kickin’ and the price of eggs weren’t so darn high. This old one, it was called a Reverso Chronographe Retrograde. What a mouthful! I can’t believe what they call things these days. But this new one is much better, I think.
They made a whole bunch of these Reverso watches this year, a whole handful. They had ’em all lined up, shinin’ like a new penny. It was a big to-do, somethin’ called “Watches and Wonders”. Like a county fair, but with nothin’ but watches. Can you imagine? A whole fair just for watches! My old ticker don’t need no fair, just keeps on tickin’ without any fuss.
This here Jaeger-LeCoultre, they call it a “Masterclass in Dual Identity”. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them spy movies my grandson watches. But it just means it’s good at bein’ two things at once. Like me, I’m good at makin’ pies and tellin’ you what’s what, all at the same time. I think they’re just tryin’ to be fancy, callin’ it names like that. But I will give this to them, it is a nice watch.
Inside this fancy watch, they got this thing called a “calibre 860”. Sounds like somethin’ you’d hunt with, but I guess it’s just the guts of the watch. Makes it tick, I suppose. And probably makes it cost more than my whole house. It’s all made by Jaeger-LeCoultre. They don’t use others’ parts.
The Reverso, they said it was made so folks could flip it over and not break the glass. But then people started paintin’ on ’em, puttin’ their names and whatnot. Like them kids writin’ on the bathroom walls down at the schoolhouse. Except these folks use fancy paint – lacquer, they call it. And some of ’em even carve into it, like whittlin’ a stick. It’s also for some special messages, I think.
These Jaeger-LeCoultre folks, they’re from a place called Vall�e de Joux, over in Switzerland. Sounds like a place where they yodel a lot. They say they’re one of the only ones that make everything themselves, all the little bits and pieces for the watches. Like me makin’ a quilt, I use my own scraps, don’t need to go buyin’ new cloth. Except they’re makin’ watches, not quilts. And I bet their scraps are worth more than my whole quilt.

Well, I reckon that’s all I can tell ya about this here Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph watch. It’s a fancy thing, that’s for sure. Too fancy for me, I’d say. But if you got the money to burn, and you like a watch that’s got two faces, then maybe this is the one for you. Me? I’ll stick with my old timex. It might not be fancy, but it tells the time just fine. And it don’t cost an arm and a leg, which is more than I can say for that there Jaeger-LeCoultre.
I don’t know how much this Jaeger-LeCoultre watch will cost you, they don’t tell me these things. But it looks expensive. You better save up for this. If you want it, you can buy it in their stores. These are called “Specialty Stores“, I guess.
It’s a new watch, remember. It’s called Reverso Tribute Chronograph. I don’t understand why they use such long names. I still think it is too fancy. I don’t think I can wear it to feed my chicken. They will laugh at me. I don’t care, though. These chicken don’t know anything about this Jaeger-LeCoultre thing. They only care about their food. Just like me, I only care about simple things.
Anyway, I hope you can get this watch in these “Specialty Stores“. I hope you have enough money. Maybe your grandson can buy it for you. Just kidding. It’s too expensive. I don’t want you to spend too much money on these things. I saw a lot of other watches when I looked at this Jaeger-LeCoultre. I think you can find a cheaper one. But if you like this one, then go ahead. It’s your money. Spend it however you like. I won’t judge you.
