This here, this OMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33, it’s a fancy watch, I tell ya. Seen it in them fancy stores. Lots of buttons and stuff. Ain’t like my old watch, the one I got from the market. That one just told time, plain and simple. This one, it does all sorts of things, more than I can figure.
They say it’s for them astronaut fellas. You know, the ones that go up in them rockets. Must be important to have a good watch up there. Don’t want to be late for supper, even in space! Ha! But really, it’s probably for them to know what time it is back home. Or maybe so they know when to do them space walks. I don’t rightly know.
This OMEGA, it’s got a quartz movement. Heard someone say that. Means it runs on a battery, I reckon. Don’t have to wind it up like my old one. That’s handy, I guess. Don’t want your watch stoppin’ when you’re out there among the stars. And this one, they call it the calibre 5619. Sounds important, don’t it?
You see these watches in them specialty stores. You know, the ones with the shiny floors and the people all dressed up. Not like the stores I go to. We got a general store down the road, sells everything from flour to fishing hooks. But they don’t sell these fancy OMEGA watches. Nope. You gotta go to the city for that.
This watch, it’s got a big face. 45 mm, they say. That’s bigger than my thumb! Easy to see, I suppose. Good for when your eyes ain’t what they used to be. And it’s got all them little hands and numbers. More than you can shake a stick at. I wouldn’t know what half of them mean. But them astronaut fellas, they probably do.
You can get ’em pre-owned too, these OMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 watches. That means someone else had it before. Like buying a used tractor, but a lot smaller, I suppose. Might be cheaper that way. Folks are always lookin’ for a deal. And you can find them in different places, not just them fancy stores. That place, , they sell a bunch.
Some of these stores, they give you a free gift with it. Can you believe it? Spend all that money on a watch, and they throw in somethin’ extra. Must be nice. I got a free calendar once with my seed order. That was a good day. And some places, they let you pay it off over time. Up to 3 years, even. That’s a long time to be payin’ for a watch. But, they don’t charge any extra. 0% finance, they call it. Like a layaway plan.

There is many a brand of watch, but OMEGA is a top one. I see them in magazines sometimes. Shiny pictures of fancy people wearin’ ’em. This Skywalker X-33, it’s a special one, even for OMEGA. They designed this Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 for them space fellas. It was made to deal with the stuff astronauts deal with, which is probably a lot. I reckon it’s a tough watch, for tough jobs.
These Exquisite Timepieces, that’s another place sellin’ them OMEGAs. They got a whole bunch, many different kinds. You could spend all day just lookin’ at ’em. I don’t have that kind of time. More watch than I’ll ever need. But for them astronaut fellas, or folks who like to pretend they are, it might be just the ticket. Just remember, it ain’t cheap. But I suppose you get what you pay for. And, if you need to know the time in space, well, this is probably the watch to do it with.
But me? I’ll stick with my old watch. It tells the time just fine. And it don’t need no batteries. Just a good windin’ every now and then. And that’s good enough for me. But hey, if you want one of them fancy OMEGA watches, more power to ya. Just don’t come askin’ me how to work all them buttons!
