Okay, here is a blog post about my experience getting the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch with a transparent case back.
So, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself an OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. You know, the one with the see-through back? Yeah, that one. It’s been on my list for like, forever, and I figured it was time to treat myself. I’ve always been a watch guy, and this one… this one is special.
I started by doing some digging around. Where would I be able to buy it? I called up a few local dealers that I knew that they are selling OMEGA watches. Some didn’t have it, some didn’t have the transparent back version. Finally, I found one. I went there immediately!
I walked into the store, and my heart was kinda racing, not gonna lie. I told the guy what I was looking for, and he went to the back and brought out this beauty. It was even more stunning in person. The way the light hits the dial, the way you can see all those tiny gears and springs moving in the back… it’s mesmerizing, I’m telling you.
I tried it on, and it felt… right. Like it was meant to be on my wrist. It’s got some weight to it, but not too heavy. Just enough to remind you it’s there. The stainless steel bracelet is super comfortable, too.
- I spent a good hour just admiring the watch, asking the sales guy all sorts of questions. He was really patient and knew his stuff.
- I mean, you can see the whole movement through the back! It is so cool. It’s like a tiny city of gears and levers all working together.
- Finally, I asked for the price. It was a bit of an ouch moment, but hey, you only live once, right?
I swiped my card, signed some papers, and boom, it was mine. They even gave me a fancy box and some cleaning cloths. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning.
I walked out of the store with the biggest grin on my face. I couldn’t stop looking at my wrist. I even took a bunch of pictures, you know, for the ‘gram. I went straight home and spent the rest of the evening just staring at my new watch. I wound it up, set the time, and just watched it tick. It’s so satisfying.
It’s been a few weeks now, and I’m still in love. It’s my daily driver, and it goes with everything. I get compliments on it all the time. It’s not just a watch; it’s a conversation starter. And yeah, I still find myself just staring at the movement through the transparent case back from time to time. It’s just so damn cool. If you’re thinking about getting one, just do it. You won’t regret it. This thing is a classic for a reason.
Through decades, the Speedmaster just keeps its magic. Now I know why they called it the “Moonwatch”.
