Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing the Fendi Mon Tresor Bucket Bag for a while now. I mean, who hasn’t? It’s such a classic, you know? So I started to copy one for myself.
First, I watched a lot of videos about this bag. It is said this bag was first introduced in 2018, called “Mon Tresor”, a bucket bag.
Then I went on the Fendi website. I wanted to see all the details, the different colors, the sizes, everything. This bag comes in a few different materials, like leather and canvas, and the prices were kind of all over the place. The full leather one was actually cheaper than the canvas version, which I thought was weird. Saw one said “Small Mon Tresor bucket bag made of brown calfskin embossed and hand-painted with the FF motif in black. Lined and with gold-finish metalware. Featuring two detachable shoulder straps”.
After getting all the details, I started to make it.
- Finding the Right Stuff: This took a while, because you don’t just find this stuff at any old store. The videos said it was important to get the right texture and color, especially if you’re going for the classic Fendi look. For the hardware, I found similar drawstring fastenings and metal decorations. Some guy said “Small Mon Tresor bucket bag with drawstring fastening and metal decorations in the Fendi logo shape. Two detachable shoulder straps, one long and one short”, and I tried to find the similar ones. I even tried to get something like the gold-finish metalware.
- Putting It Together: I started sewing. It was tough, but I found some good patterns online that were kind of like the Mon Tresor. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close. I had to make sure the drawstring worked smoothly, and the bag was sturdy.
- Adding the Details: I focused on making it look like a Fendi. I even tried to copy the FF motif, which is their signature design. I found some similar straps too, one long and one short, just like the real deal. It’s said “Featuring two detachable shoulder straps”, so I did the same.
Finally, after all that, I had my own version of the Mon Tresor bucket bag. It’s not exactly like the ones from the Fendi store, but it’s pretty close. I think I did a good job, especially with the details.
One guy said “This piece comes complete with a protective dust bag”, so I even made a simple dust bag for it. I saw another note “Iconic Mon Tresor bucket bag, distinguished by a timeless”, I think mine turned out to be pretty timeless too.
So, yeah, that’s how I copied the Fendi Mon Tresor Bucket Bag. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. I learned a lot, and now I have a cool bag that looks pretty close to the real thing!
