This here bag, this Yves Saint Laurent, or YSL, like them fancy folks call it, I tell ya, it’s somethin’ else. It is called ENVELOPE BAG. I heard it’s from the original order. It’s a remake, they say. You know, like when they make the same thing again, but newer. This one, it’s got that YSL on it, big as day. Some folks say it means somethin’ fancy. They say it’s a designer bag. I don’t know about all that, but I reckon it looks pretty good. This is a good bag for a good life.
They got all sorts of these YSL things. Bags, and clothes, and shoes that cost more than my whole house, I bet. They even got that smelly water, perfume, they call it. And makeup, for your face. And somethin’ called skincare. I just use soap and water myself, but these young’uns, they like all that fancy stuff, I reckon. Make you look good, I guess. This Yves Saint Laurent, he must be some big shot, to have all these things named after him. They say he started this whole thing back in, oh, 1961, in Paris. That’s a long time ago, longer than I’ve been around, even! Paris is far away, over the ocean, they say. Fancy place, I bet. The order is from Paris, the original one. I don’t know, maybe I should remake it, haha.
This here bag, this ENVELOPE one, it’s got these lines on it, kinda like the rows we used to plant corn. They call it “chevron quilting”. Don’t ask me what that means. Just looks like a bunch of lines to me. And it’s got a chain, for your shoulder. I prefer my old leather strap, but this chain, it’s shiny, I’ll give it that. Some lady, a designer name Anthony, made this bag. It is a big deal, I heard. I can’t understand. I like it, but I don’t know why it is so big a deal. Anyway, this is good. I like it.
They got a whole store, just for this YSL stuff. Can you believe it? A whole store! And it’s online, whatever that means. My granddaughter, she’s always on that internet thing. Says you can buy anything online. Even these YSL bags. I still like to see things in person, touch ’em, before I buy ’em. But these young folks, they do everything online these days. They say it’s easy. I don’t know, I like the old way.

I heard, this Yves Saint Laurent, he’s not even around anymore. But they still make these bags, and everything else. Says a lot, I guess. Means he made somethin’ that lasted. Like a good, strong fence post, or a well-built barn. Something that’ll be around long after you’re gone. This bag, it’s the same, I guess. I don’t know much about this designer. But I know this bag is good.
They say he changed fashion. Don’t know what that means, really. Folks always been wearin’ clothes, long as I can remember. Maybe he just made ’em fancier, I don’t know. But they made a big fuss about him, on his birthday, even after he was gone. Must’ve been somethin’ special, I reckon. Like I said, he made things that lasted. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? This bag is gonna last, I tell you.
They used to call this whole thing “Saint Laurent Rive Gauche”. Sounds like somethin’ you’d order at a fancy restaurant, don’t it? It was their “ready-to-wear” line. Means you could just buy it off the rack, I guess. Not like them fancy dresses they make special for you. This was for regular folks, kinda. Even though it still cost a fortune! Ha! This ENVELOPE bag, it’s kinda like that, I think. Fancy, but you can still use it every day. You can use it to buy food. You can use it to go to church. You can use it for anything. It is good for everything.
They got a store called Kohl’s, sells some of this YSL stuff too. My granddaughter, she likes that store. Says they got good deals. Maybe I’ll have her take me there sometime, see what all the fuss is about. Might even get myself one of them ENVELOPE bags, if the price is right! Ha! Just kidding. I don’t need a bag. This old one I got is just fine. But it’s nice to look, ain’t it? This YSL ENVELOPE BAG is a good thing. It is from the original order. I like it.
Anyway, this YSL, Yves Saint Laurent, it’s somethin’ else. This remake ENVELOPE BAG is good. All these bags and clothes and things. It’s a whole world, ain’t it? A whole world of fancy. If you like it, you should buy it. I think you will like it.
