Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about remaking the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. I saw it online, and I was like, “I gotta have it.” But, you know, the price tag? Not so much. So, I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?”
First things first, I gathered all the materials. I needed some good-looking faux leather, some sturdy lining fabric, a zipper, and some gold-colored hardware to match the real deal. Finding the right materials took some time. I went to a few different stores. I wanted something that looked and felt decent without breaking the bank.
Then, I started working on the pattern. I found some box bag patterns online as a base but modified them to fit the YSL June Box Bag’s specific shape and size. It was a bit tricky, a lot of measuring and remeasuring. I’m not the best at sewing, but I wanted to get it right. The bag has this unique, sleek look, and I wanted to capture that.
After that, I cut out all the pieces. I carefully pinned the faux leather and the lining together, making sure everything lined up perfectly. I double-checked all the measurements. This part was crucial because any mistake here would mess up the whole bag.
Next up, the sewing. I slowly stitched the pieces together, following the pattern I’d made. I used a sewing machine for most of it, but some parts I did by hand, especially around the corners and the zipper. Sewing the zipper was probably the hardest part. I had to redo it a couple of times to get it smooth and straight. It took a few tries, but I finally got it.
Once the main body of the bag was done, I added the hardware. The gold rings, the clasp, the little details – they really made the bag look legit. It was like putting the finishing touches on a painting. And let me tell you, attaching those little pieces was a test of patience.
Finally, I finished the bag! It took me a few days, working on and off, but it was worth it. It’s not perfect, but it looks pretty darn close to the original. I’m actually quite proud of how it turned out. I can’t wait to use it!
